There is something incredibly powerful that happens when you consciously make a commitment to do something.
Yesterday I made a pledge to be an Athlete Ally and stand for gay athletes’ equality on and off the playing field. Today, I saw a man in a dress, high heels, and makeup in the subway and everyone in the car including me stared at him (he looked great!). But, I remembered my pledge and I thought, “it’s impolite to stare at anybody. Does it make it any different because this is a man in women’s clothing?” I put my head down in shame, turned away and sent this PERSON some love and good vibes.
I plan to sit with myself and make more commitments; ensure that I remember what I want and where I want to be in my life.
