LAURA "ROCKSTAR" DANELSKI | Vinyasa Yoga Teacher
For as long as Laura could remember, she was a bit of a rockstar. Four show days on two hours sleep were not unheard of in her world as a (Radio City) Rockette. This was the life she lived for 13 years until retiring her dancing shoes and becoming a drum playing yogi. Her life and her work is now stripped down and raw. She teaches from my heart and is grateful for a practice that continues to bring her back to her rockstar self. Laura currently teaches Vinyasa Yoga on Saturdays.
CECIL DOMINGUEZ | Salsa Teacher
Cecil Dominguez found his passion for Salsa by accident when two friends forced him to a dance class nearly 20 years ago. The self proclaimed non-dancer soon found himself addicted to the art form, discovering he possessed a hidden talent for salsa. After training with acclaimed mambo instructor, Carlos Konig for five years, Cecil began performing with the school at public and private venues such the Naumburg Bandshell in Central Park and Lincoln Center. After a decade of dancing, Cecil began teaching alongside his beloved teacher, Mr. Konig and is now starting up the Salsa program at Journeyspace. Cecil currently teaches Salsa on Fridays.
CECY FIGUEROA | ZUMBA® Fitness Teacher
Get ready to let your guard down when dancing with Cecy. Her smile has the power to melt even the most reserved newcomer. She loves teaching Zumba Fitness simply because every class feels like a party! No experience or dance ability required. You just move your body and follow her lead. Join her and you'll understand. Cecy currently teaches our Monday night Zumba Fitness Class.
HEATHER RIANNE GROSSE | Modern Dance Teacher
A dancer from early childhood, Heather began her training in ballet, tap and jazz at the age of five. She later ventured in to the world of Fashion as a menswear stylist returning to dance after relocating to New York from Virginia in 2015. When not consuming copious amounts of pickles, Heather dances professionally with the dance troupe Joosebox and teaches children's ballet for a local cultural arts program, DI Studio Heights. Heather currently teaches our Thursday night Modern Dance Class.
NICKY HAMILTON | ZUMBA® Fitness Teacher
Nicole (AKA. Nicky) is a self-proclaimed Zumbaholic! For almost her entire life she went through a long, hard battle with weight. The battle ended the day her mother dragged her to her first Zumba class in Miami. The minute the class started, she realized that Zumba was so much more than just a dance or fitness class. A year and a half later, Nicky became a licensed instructor. If someone had told her that she would become an exercise instructor, she would have never believed it. She used to be unfit, on the verge of obesity, and lacked the confidence she would have thought necessary to be a fitness professional, but Zumba was special enough to change her in so many ways. Zumba quickly fast-forwarded her to her fitness destination, and now it's her turn to pay it forward. Nicky currently teaches Zumba Fitness on Saturdays.
